ABOUT Flagship Pages

An Introduction

In early 2008, I decided it was time to tackle the creative project of my dreams, which for years had just been a collection of ideas I always knew I had to get on paper. Four novels later and now knocking on the door of the literary world, Flagship Pages will be the studio that supports my writing projects, providing a professionally formatted showcase of my work.

Sincerely, A.H.A. Roan

Interview With An Author

What are some of the differences between your currently available books? What are the styles of narrative, and who’s the intended audience?

The differences are, so far: four books, four very different stories. I love science-fiction, and that’s clearly the underlying genre of “The New World Revolution” and “Law Burger”, but I also have become infatuated with another subject; the semi-autobiographical approach — which is the inspiration for "Journal Of A Gentleman", as well as a few more planned projects.

The change in style between “The New World’s” third-person narrative, and my other three books written in first-person perspective is just a choice I made as to the direction I felt best fit each story. After completing “The New World” in third-person, I began writing “Journal” as a test in third-person / first-person mix, but moved away from it and just dived into a fast-paced first-person style. I'd like to try some other approaches on futures project, e.g., writing from the perspective of a female protagonist..

The audience is everyone. But on a more focused note, I think my science-fiction stories will appeal to anyone who enjoys that genre. “Journal” should have more appeal to married and almost married men, as well as women who want to take a peak inside of the minds of their significant other. "Delivery" is more of a common day oddity, which could appeal to anyone who's ever ordered a pizza.
